Check whether you're going to be in Edmonton during any of the summer festivals. Folkfest is mainly sold out now, but you might enjoy the street performers, festival food, and plays at the Fringe Theatre Festival. Or any of the other festivals.

Ride a bike in the river valley.

Shop and socialise on Whyte Avenue in Old Strathcona.

Check out the Muttart Conservatory, Fort Edmonton Park, Royal Alberta Museum, Art Gallery of Alberta, or Telus World of Science.

Go check out the Alberta Legislature - it's free.
